Sibling Groups

There is an urgent need for foster carers who have room to place sibling groups.

Keeping brothers and sisters together in foster care is crucial, siblings have lost the rest of their family and may have been separated from other half siblings or extended family members.  Caring for sibling groups can be extremely rewarding and create stability and security for the children when placed together.

We are currently urgently seeking foster carers, nationwide, who are able to offer care to siblings groups.

Parent & Child

Our Parent and Child foster carers provide a safe and secure home for a parent and their child/children.

Specialist foster carers take on these placements to guide them, providing supervision, support and care which allows the parent to learn to care for their child/children in a stable and nurturing home.

There is enhanced funding and support for parent/child foster care - you will be guided every step of the way.

Long-Term

Children in foster care need foster carers who can commit to them on a long term basis, if this is in their plan.  By offering a child a long-term home you can create stability and security for a child, or young person, who can become part of your family whilst you still access intensive support from the professional network.

At RFS we have a high long-term and perm fostering rate, meaning that our children are very well supported by our foster carers and our team, which often leads to children remaining long term or permanently.

Short-term

There are occasions when children need to live with foster carers on a short-term basis - this can be from 24 hours to several years depending on the plan for the child.

You will be able to have ongoing discussions with our team should you be interested in fostering a child. Our team will also offer you the opportunity to get to know the child and accessing the professional team enables you to decide if the child can remain with you on a longer term basis, if it's in the childs plan.

Teenagers

Do you have room in your life to foster a teenager?

A significant number of children who need foster carers are older children and teenagers.  Many of these children will have had difficulties at home and are likely to have been exposed to neglect or abuse over a longer period of time.

With time, patience, honesty and love, you can help an older child or teenager flourish under your care.

Teenagers need someone who is able to relate to them on a personal level, understand the root of their trama, and not give up on them at their time of need.
