Every child, or young person, in care has unique needs. So, it follows that there are different types of foster care. Some children need a fostering placement for a few nights; others require longer.
A continued lack of capacity in the foster care sector is leading to vulnerable children missing out on the care and support they need, Ofsted says.

Many foster carers have access to their own support networks made up from family and friends. These personal networks can be crucial to foster carers when accessing emotional support.
But we know how important it is to have varied levels of support such as formal supervision, peer support, out-of-hours support, and respite care services. Our local groups also give you the opportunity to sit down and discuss issues or concerns, which can be shared with other experienced foster carers and our local team of professionals in an informal setting.
We are on hand 24/7, 365 days a year.
